The Community Film Project produces full-length, original films with a spirit of inclusion, creativity, and learning. Our current production, Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical, has brought together over 30 volunteer team members since November 2024, each contributing their skills and heart to bring this story to life. Collectively, we’ve already logged 3,000+ hours across Content, Production, Marketing, Fundraising, Administration, and Education teams, each working in harmony to create something truly special.
While we have industry professionals working alongside community members, we operate on a deferred payment model, allowing our team to earn compensation once the film generates revenue. Every cast member, crew member, and writer is juggling day jobs, families, and real-life responsibilities. They show up out of passion, heart, and a deep love for storytelling and learning about film. 
Your support through this campaign helps us cover essential production costs now, ensuring we can produce this film at a professional level while honoring the commitment of the team who have given their time and talents to make it happen.
This isn’t our first rodeo, either. With our first feature film, Before Your Time, we worked with over 1,000 volunteers to produce a full-length, heartfelt story that highlighted local Utah areas, restaurants, and businesses while building skills, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. We’ve seen firsthand how community filmmaking can transform lives, strengthen local connections, and create something truly meaningful together—and we can’t wait to do it again with Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical.
